The need for a culture

There is a lot of noise out there when it comes to blockchain and crypto-currencies. Most of the noise consist of daily news and it pulls us from important things.

Because blockchain revolutionize the way information is stored, I call this newsletter ‘a ledger for blockchain culture‘, meaning there is a culture appearing around this technology and I want to be a part of it — with you.

Blockchain

Blockchain is an open source community but nowadays it attracted many stakeholders with different motives. Entrepreneurs quickly launched projects and developers joined them. VCs see the big opportunity in the ecosystem as well as governments. They all have different perspectives but share the same goal, how can we make the world a better place?

I’m in the same mood. Because of my media background, I decided to start a newsletter in Turkey (kriptopara.io), informing audiences in order to motivate them to take action and position in this emerging technology. It quickly became a success, more than 700 subscribers in 2 months.

I spend hours for an e-mail, I want them to be unique in content and in language. I construct my stories carefully, tailor them to be contextually complex but easy on the eyes and mind. You will experience the same thing with the English version.

Crypto-Currencies

“Nothing says state sovereignty like currency. We put pictures of presidents, monarchs, and prime ministers on our banknotes. Currency has become fundamentally linked to our notion of national economies, national power, and even national identity.“
-The Industries of the Future, Alec Ross

Bitcoin is nothing like that. It has no nation and no government or company can control it because it is decentralized.

The effort to rebuild the trust in the financial system is open to great ideas in the shape of ICOs. But the markets are still volatile and primitive. Most of us have a passive-aggressive relationship with cryptos and that’s because I created a ‘Playbook’. The Playbook. I’ll share all the details about it in my e-mails but the most important ones are these:

  • 3 trades a week — I do no more than 3 trades a week.
  • %20 rule — I expect %20 return on each and every one of them.
  • Concentration — I don’t buy a coin I don’t know and worked on.
  • Discipline — I don’t do impulse buying/selling.

I’ll share my understanding of the markets from time to time in my e-mails and give you detailed information about trading strategies, tools to use — the whole nine yards.
